The California Department of Social Services (CDSS), in collaboration with WestEd, is funding an opportunity to become a certified Desired Results for Children and Families trainer.

The Desired Results Certified Trainer Institute (CTI) prepares trainers to deliver teacher training on the Desired Results Developmental Profile (DRDP). Participants are required to complete specific prerequisites before enrolling in the program. Once these prerequisites are met, participants will undertake an eight-session virtual program that covers the DRDP, presentation skills, co-training with an expert trainer, and concludes with a final certification assessment.

Certified trainers will gain access to the DRDP Online Conference Center, enabling them to provide unlimited training as part of their job duties within their agency. Maintaining certification requires attendance at quarterly update webinars to stay current on best practices.

* Prerequisites:  Trainers must 1) observe and participate in DRDP and Meaningful Observation training presented by a certified trainer or 2) complete and submit certificates for DRDP modules 1-5 from California Early Childhood Online (CECO).

  • March 24, 8:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.
  • March 25, 8:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.

Institute 2: June 4-10, 2025

  • June 4, 8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
  • June 5, 8:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.
  • June 6, 8:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.
  • June 9, 8:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.
  • June 10, 8:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.

Location:  Virtual via Zoom

Cost:  Free, funded by CDSS

Registration:  Please complete the CTI application and the Statement of Understanding.

Training includes all certification costs, a teacher training sample kit, and the one-year subscription fee for the conference center.
